May is a sacred intersection of remembrance, honor, outpouring and growth.
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we honor the women who carried, nurtured, and poured into our lives, often through sacrifice that words cannot fully capture. A godly mother doesn’t just train children; she shapes destinies, prays futures into existence, and leaves behind a spiritual imprint that time cannot erase.
As we approach Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave their lives so that others could live in freedom. Their sacrifice reminds us that what we enjoy today was paid for by someone else. Both of these days call us to remember, but not in a passive way, but in a direct way.
In the Kingdom of God, remembrance is not just about reflection, it is activation. When we remember, we don’t just look back, we receive forward.
The prayers of a mother, the sacrifice of the fallen, and ultimately the cross of Calvary all point to one truth: something has been poured out so something greater can be poured into us, and this is the very heart of Pentecost.
In Acts 2, the Spirit was poured out on a people who understood sacrifice, who honored what God had done, and who were ready to carry it forward. The same Spirit is still moving today, but not just to bless us, but to empower us to live out the legacy we’ve received.
So this May, don’t just remember for a moment, but respond in accordance to what you have been given.
Honor the voices that shaped you. Carry the values that were fought for you. Walk in the Spirit that has been given to you. Because remembrance, in the hands of God, becomes a reviving, refreshing time of growth.
What was poured out in past generations is meant to flow powerfully through us today.
